The Cowichan Valley Regional District is warning crafters of a scam making the rounds of social media.
According to the CVRD, there is a fake ad running on Facebook Marketplace advertising craft fairs at Kerry Park Recreation Centre in Mill Bay this month and next.
The ad says it is $65 for a table to exhibit at the craft fairs, but the craft fairs don’t exist. “Please do not click, engage or send money to this ad,” the CVRD implores in an online post. “It is a scam.”
The district recommends reporting the ad to local police, Facebook and any other online administrator where it appears.
