Robber wore ski mask, brandished knife in three Port Alberni robberies hours apart

Police said no one was injured in the robberies but such incidents are “highly traumatizing” for employees and put the public at risk.

Port Alberni RCMP are investigating a series of robberies just hours apart on Sunday.

The first was reported at a 7-Eleven at Redford Street and 10th Avenue about 3:25 p.m. Police said a knife was produced and the robber wore a blue ski mask — similar to a Nov. 27 robbery there.

The next robbery was about 5:40 p.m. at the King Edward liquor store on 3rd Avenue, where a robber with a ski mask also produced a knife.

That was followed by another robbery at 7:10 p.m at the same 7-Eleven by someone wearing a ski mask and brandishing a knife.

Police said no one was injured in the robberies but such incidents are “highly traumatizing” for employees and put the public at risk.
