A RCMP emergency response team forced their way into a Sidney residence Monday after receiving reports a man was barricaded inside, only to find no one there.
Police received the call about 10:30 a.m.
B.C. RCMP told the Times Colonist “there was a belief” a man had barricaded himself inside a residence on Beacon Avenue west of the Pat Bay Highway.
Upon entering the residence, officers found no one inside.
B.C. Transit buses detoured a section of Beacon Avenue for about three hours starting around 1 p.m., citing an emergency incident.
The case has since been resolved, police are not seeking any specific individuals related to the incident, RCMP said.
