Saanich police swarmed to a home on Desousa Place in Gordon Head Monday evening after receiving a report of an attempted abduction. Sgt. Dean Jantzen released few details at 8 p.m. Monday other than to say Saanich police are seeking the public's help to locate a rented van. The 2012 Ford Econo-line van, marked with U-Haul decals, with the plate EG7652, was reported stolen from a Victoria shopping mall earlier in the day and was driven by the suspect to Gordon Head.
Anyone seeing the van is asked to call 911. Police asked people not to approach the van or its occupants, who may be Asian. A female was taken to hospital following the incident with unknown injuries.
