The search for a missing 67-year-old woman along the Cowichan River is now in the hands of the Lake Cowichan RCMP.
The local RCMP detachment will continue to look for the woman, but search-and-rescue crews stood down Friday after working in the river and on its banks since Tuesday.
Search efforts began early Tuesday evening near Skutz Falls when the body of 84-year-old man, the woman’s partner, was found in the water.
The woman was reported to have been using an inflatable boat, and one was found near the falls.
