Port Alberni RCMP are investigating a stabbing Thursday night that left a 47-year-old man with serious injuries.
Police were called to Third Avenue near Argyle Street after a report of a man lying on the sidewalk with stab wounds to his face and stomach, said RCMP spokeswoman Const. Shelly Schedewitz.
B.C. Ambulance paramedics transported the man to West Coast General Hospital in Port Alberni, and he was airlifted to Victoria General Hospital, where he was stable and recovering from his injuries, Schedewitz said.
