The B.C. government will outline its spending plans for the new fiscal year starting April 1 with a new budget that is to be unveiled by Finance Minister Mike de Jong at the legislature today around 2 p.m.
It will be the first balanced budget in four years, meaning revenues are forecast to be higher than spending. The document will give details for more than $43 billion in provincial public spending and set the stage for the provincial election on May 14.
