Police seek footage of Bay Street hit-and-run

The suspect vehicle has front-end damage and a B.C. licence plate that starts with MW, Victoria police say.

Victoria police are appealing to the public for information or video footage related to a hit-and-run investigation.

About 10:30 p.m. on May 31, a westbound vehicle was struck by another vehicle in the 400-block of Bay Street, in the Rock Bay area.

The suspect vehicle, described as a black truck or SUV, quickly drove off and was last seen headed north on Bridge Street.

It has front-end damage and a B.C. licence plate that starts with MW.

The occupant of the vehicle that was struck was assessed at the scene by B.C. Emergency Health Services paramedics.

Police are hoping to get dashcam or surveillance footage of the collision or of the vehicle that left the scene.
