Saanich police are reporting a spike in thefts from vehicles in the past few days, including repeat incidents at a commercial compound on Enterprise Crescent and Vanalman Avenue.

Saanich police are reporting a spike in thefts from vehicles in the past few days, including repeat incidents at a commercial compound on Enterprise Crescent and Vanalman Avenue.

Thieves have broken into vehicles parked near businesses in the area on eight occasions since September, said Sgt. Dean Jantzen, spokesman for Saanich police.

The latest incidents occurred overnight Saturday when eight vehicles were broken into in the 700-block of Enterprise.

Police also report 11 incidents in the Sinclair Hill area overnight Friday. Break-ins stretched to Killarney Road, Sinclair Road, Pitcombe Place and Penrhyn Street.

Police are reminding motorists that leaving things in vehicles can attract thieves.
