Nanaimo RCMP have released a surveillance photo of a white pickup in connection with an incident where a woman was struck by a vehicle and had to be airlifted to Victoria for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Police said the woman, who is in her 50s, was crossing the road in an area without a designated crosswalk when she was hit.
The driver of the Toyota Prius that struck her remained at the scene.
The RCMP asked for the public’s help in identifying the driver and registered owner of the pickup, which was in the area of Milton and Nicol streets about 11 p.m. Tuesday.
