West Shore police are looking for a man who grabbed a 13-year-old girl by the wrist Monday night.

The young teen escaped unharmed and called police, West Shore RCMP Cpl. Scott Braes said today.

The girl was walking along Wishart Road in Colwood between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday when she said a stranger, between 17 and 25 years old, grabbed her by the wrist.

“There’s no evidence that he was trying to harm the female,” said Braes.

West Shore RCMP would like to speak to the man, who was wearing a black hoodie, white running shoes and black cargo pants.

Anyone with information can contact the West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.

West Shore RCMP used Monday night’s incident to remind the public to be cautious when walking alone at night and to try to stay on busier, well-lit roads at all times.
