A cougar was reported on Monday at 9 p.m. in the 4400 block of Cedar Hill Road. Police attended the area, but the cougar was not located.

On Tuesday morning at 6 a.m., police got another report of a sighting near the park in the 4100 block of Glendenning Road, off Mt. Douglas Cross Road.

The Conservation Officer Service was called in both cases.

Anyone who sees a cougar is asked to report it to Saanich police and conservation services at 1-877-952-RAPP (7277).

Conservation officers say if you see a cougar, make yourself as big as possible, never turn your back and keep your eyes on the cougar at all times.
