Four porta-potties went up in flames in Parksville on Thursday in what is considered a suspicious blaze.
Parksville Fire Rescue Assistant Chief Steven Liedl said the department was paged about 8:30 p.m. about a fire at Parksville Community Park. When firefighters arrived, they found the porta-parties burning.
He said there is some work going on at the park and the porta-parties had been set up next to the playground by the contractor.
Liedl said it took about 10 minutes to put the fire out. Damage was limited to the porta-potties, he said.
“It does seem suspicious so we are investigating with the RCMP,” he said.
