One sent to hospital with critical injuries after McTavish interchange crash

One person, believed to be the driver of a Toyota Prius, was taken to hospital in critical condition late Thursday after a single-vehicle crash on the on-ramp to the McTavish Road interchange.

According to B.C. Emergency Health Services, several paramedic crews, including advanced care paramedics, were dispatched to the scene after emergency calls came in around 11 p.m. Thursday.

Images posted on social media appeared to show a badly damaged vehicle, with its air bags deployed, at rest on the grass in the middle of a roundabout.

Images also showed a trail of damaged signs and road barriers leading to the roundabout.
