The Sidney Street Market will soon include a free bike valet service.

Valet service, scheduled to start on July 6, will offer cyclists a secure place to store their bikes while at the street market, which runs every Thursday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. until Sept. 14 on Beacon Avenue.

The valet will be located at the Army, Navy and Airforce Veterans parking lot at 9831 Fourth St.

Capital Bike will operate the service, which is running as a pilot project to determine whether a bike valet program could be useful at other Sidney events.

Staff will report back to council on the use of the service.
