Yet another mild earthquake has gone bump in the night off Vancouver Island.

The U.S. Geological Survey says this one had a magnitude of 4.4 and occurred at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

It was centred in the Pacific Ocean about 200 kilometres west of Tofino and was not strong enough to cause any major damage or generate a tsunami.

It comes days after some residents of Haida Gwaii were rattled awake by the 7.5 magnitude quake that occurred early Saturday morning off Alaska. That shaker also caused no injuries or damage.
