Metchosin residents warned military exercises include firing of blank ammunition

The Naval Security Team’s small-boat procedures will also include sirens, horns, searchlights and flashing blue lights.

Military exercises will take place Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Maritime Forces Pacific is warning residents of Metchosin and the southern part of Victoria that they might see and hear signs of military exercises Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The Naval Security Team will be active with small-boat procedures that will include sirens, horns, searchlights, flashing blue lights and the firing of blank ammunition.

The team is a group of specially trained sailors that works with the Royal Canadian Navy.
