Nanaimo RCMP have arrested a Nanaimo man after warrants were issued linked to charges from a March 25 incident where he allegedly slashed a tire on a police vehicle with a knife.
The charges include possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, mischief under $5,000 and possession of a controlled substance.
Warrants were issued after Bryan Bozak missed a scheduled court appearance.
The police officer using the vehicle and several other people witnessed the tire slashing.
Bozak tried to flee but was caught after a short foot chase.
The knife believed to have been used was found in his clothing, as well as a small amount of illegal drugs.
