Victoria police have arrested a man wanted on a Canadawide warrant.
Travis Moore, 28, has been serving a five-year sentence for a number of convictions including breaking-and-entering, robbery, assault and assault causing bodily harm. He was placed on statutory release and failed to abide by the conditions that were set, leading to the warrant.
Officers responded to a sighting of Moore near Beacon Hill Park about 4 p.m. Sunday, but he ran into the bushes and got away.
On Tuesday, officers were called about another reported sighting, this time on Yates Street. Police said Moore fled on foot, but officers were able to arrest him near Yates and Quadra Street without further incident.
