Man assaulted on Pandora Avenue with bear spray, a Taser, stool

Victoria police are seeking witnesses and dashcam or other footage after a 70-year-old man was assaulted with bear spray, a Taser and a metal stool last week in the 900-block of Pandora Avenue.

Police called to the area about 10 p.m. Sept. 26 determined the victim had been collecting refundable containers when he was set upon by three people.

The man was taken to hospital by paramedics with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police released a video of the assault with a warning that it contains graphic content (vicpd.ca/2023/10/03/witnesses-and-cctv-footage-sought-after-70-year-old-assaulted/).

It shows the man being swung at and sprayed, and other people in the vicinity scrambling to leave the area.

One of the suspects is described as white and about five-foot-seven with a shaved head and scabs on his scalp. He was wearing a red ski-style jacket.
