A 33-year-old man was arrested after a string of incidents in View Royal and Langford on Saturday.

The first call to West Shore RCMP came about 8:15 a.m. when a man threw a rock that damaged the front window of the Cascadia Liquor Store on Helmcken Road in View Royal.

Next came a call about 10:15 a.m. about a man stealing a bottle of liquor from the Jacklin Road B.C. Liquor Store in Langford, followed by a 10:30 a.m. report that a man had stolen bolt cutters at the Canadian Tire store on Langford Parkway and assaulted an employee who confronted him outside.

The employee sustained minor injuries.

Police responded to all of the calls and no one was located. But about 3:20 p.m., the Mounties received a report of an intoxicated man in the 2800-block of Jacklin Road, and confirmed the man was the suspect in the earlier incidents.

He was arrested for mischief under $5,000, assault and two counts of theft under $5,000.

The man was held in custody until he was sober and then released with several conditions. He is scheduled for a court appearance at the end of the month.
