Nanaimo RCMP is asking for public assistance in locating a man who allegedly entered a pub with a firearm in late October.

Alexander Howell, 32, is wanted on several firearms-related warrants, Const. Gary O’Brien said Friday.

It’s alleged that Howell pointed a handgun during an altercation in the pub. No shots were fired and Howell left in a vehicle, he said.

Howell was arrested 10 days later and released on conditions. However, he has failed to appear on the charges in Nanaimo Provincial Court and warrants have been issued for his arrest.

Howell is charged with use of an imitation firearm, carrying a concealed weapon and assault with a weapon.

He is described as five-feet, 10-inches tall and weighs 180 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and sports a neck tattoo of a rose.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345.
