Investigators issue plea for information on Dallas Road homicide

It's been nearly a year since the 47-year-old was found lying on the grass near the sidewalk.

Nearly a year after Bree Gamble was found dead near a sidewalk on Dallas Road, on the edge of Beacon Hill Park, investigators are making a plea for anyone with information to come forward.

Gamble, also known as Bree Lozano, was found lying on the grass near the sidewalk around 6 a.m. on March 3, 2021. Her death is considered a homicide.

The 47-year-old mother had worked at many restaurants around Victoria. In the summers of 2019 and 2020, she worked at a fishing camp on the North Island, working 18 hours a day for two months.

On Monday morning, Victoria police issued an update from the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit saying detectives continue to investigate Gamble’s death.

“Investigators have spoken with several people in relation to this investigation. However, we believe there are additional people with information who have yet to come forward and speak with police,” says the media release.

Investigators do not believe there is a wider risk to the public, but continue “to assess the risk to the public as the investigation continues,” the update says.

Police ask anyone with information about Gamble's death to call the VIIMCU information line at 250-380-6211.
