A 26-year-old woman is facing a variety of charges after a hit-and-run collision Sunday in Cobble Hill.

A motorcyclist in the southbound lane of the Trans-Canada Highway was struck from behind while at a red light at Hutchinson Road, RCMP said.

The motorist then left the scene. A woman was later arrested at a home in the 3300 block of Boyles Road in Cobble Hill.

Her breath tests revealed “extremely high” readings nearly four times the legal limit for blood alcohol content, RCMP said.

The woman was held in a cell at the Duncan detachment.

Police are recommending charges that include impaired driving causing bodily harm and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
