The Times Colonist website was offline from about 12:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday because of a major technical outage at Microsoft Azure, which hosts timescolonist.com. Thanks for your patience as systems were restored.

Microsoft servers play a crucial role in hosting timescolonist.com and sister Glacier Media websites.

The technical problem also affected other news websites across Canada.
