Two handguns and drugs including fentanyl were seized Wednesday after an investigation by Victoria and Saanich police into organized crime and trafficking in the region.

Methamphetamine and cocaine were also recovered, along with prescription drugs, cash, ammunition and a stolen bike valued at about $10,000.

Three people have been arrested.

The first two arrests were made when the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team joined Victoria and Saanich officers in conducting a high-risk vehicle stop about 3 p.m. at Douglas Street and Burnside Road East.

That was followed by a search warrant being executed on Lurline Avenue, near Hampton Park in the Tillicum and Burnside Road West area. A third person was arrested there and taken to Saanich police cells.

The Victoria police have been targeting organized crime in partnership with the Saanich Police Street Crime Unit and others, with a focus on Victoria and Esquimalt.

Anyone with information on drugs or guns in their neighbourhood is asked to call Victoria police at 250-995-7654, extension 1, Saanich police at 250-475-4321 or Greater Victoria Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
