Friends of a young Victoria mother who is fighting cancer hope an event tonight will help raise money for her son three year-old son, Lucas.
Julia Wolf has been diagnosed with stage three metastatic malignant melanoma. The 25-year-old does not have life insurance and is relying on the generosity of friends to help her provide for Lucas.
Tonight's dance and silent auction at the Archie Browning Sports Centre are part of the fundraising drive. Admission is $10, with tickets available at the door. Doors open at 6: 30 p.m. and the event runs until 1 a.m.
The evening includes an auction featuring dates with local firefighters. Hockey players Justin Courtnall, son of Geoff Courtnall, and the Dallas Stars' Jamie Benn will also be on hand to sign autographs.
Donations to a trust fund that will help provide for Lucas's basic needs now and college education later can be made at any Island Savings Credit Union in Lucas Wolf's name, account number 2219467.
