Four people got out safely from a fire Wednesday that destroyed a home on the Stz’uminus First Nation, near Chemainus.
Two were taken to hospital by ambulance for evaluation, said Martin Drakeley, North Cowichan fire chief.
Firefighters were called about 8:50 a.m. and managed to get water on the blaze quickly, Drakeley said.
“The fire had gotten hold and there were electrical lines that were in play,” he said.
No cause has been determined.
