Ladysmith RCMP are asking potential witnesses to come forward as they investigate a shooting incident on the Stz’uminus First Nation.

Police said an unoccupied vehicle was shot at early on Feb. 18 while it was parked at a residence on First Nation lands.

Officers have been gathering evidence with assistance from the RCMP Forensic Identification Section, and are now turning to the public for help.

Sgt. Tim Desaulniers, acting officer in charge of Ladysmith RCMP, said police can only release limited information to protect the integrity of the investigation.

Anyone with information, including dashcam or video surveillance footage, is asked to call Ladysmith RCMP at 250-245-2215.
