Nanaimo RCMP seized drugs, five replica firearms and other items estimated to have a street value of $40,000 following a traffic stop in January.
In the vehicle, occupied by three adults, police found what is believed to be 10 ounces of crystal methamphetamine, 2.5 ounces of crack cocaine, 149 prescription pills, 500 mls of gamma-hydroxybutyrate, $385 in cash, four cellphones, a digital scale and five replica firearms.
The RCMP said in a statement that they knew the driver did not have a valid driver’s licence. The traffic stop took place at 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 19.
Everyone in the vehicle was linked with the drug trade, police said.
All three were released at the scene pending an analysis of the items seized, required for the Crown to approve charges.
