Oak Bay police are searching for a driver who ran off after a hit-and-run on St. Patrick’s Day.

Police said the rear-end collision at Cadboro Bay and Eastdowne roads caused “extensive damage” to both vehicles involved, along with minor injuries that did not require medical attention.

The driver of the vehicle that was struck said he had been stopped on Cadboro Bay Road when the collision happened, and the other driver fled on foot.

The person who ran off, a 29-year-old woman, was identified by her passenger, who is also the vehicle’s registered owner.

Police ask anyone with information to contact them at 250-592-2424 or make an anonymous report to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
