A pipe bombed found outside the SilverCity theatre at Tillicum Centre on Thursday morning turned out to have been already detonated.
Saanich police were called to the theatre about 10 a.m., after an employee noticed the suspicious item outside.
The area was cordoned off to allow an explosives expert to investigate.
“It was determined the device had already been detonated, and had resulted in no damage to the building,” said Saanich police Sgt. Steve Eassie in a statement.
Police were unable to determine when the explosive had been detonated.
