A cyclist was taken to hospital with minor injuries after being struck in early-morning traffic in a Colwood intersection on Thursday.
West Shore RCMP Acting Sgt. Kathy Rochlitz said the incident happened around 7: 15 a.m. at the intersection of Wilfert Road and Old Island Highway.
The cyclist was travelling straight through the intersection toward Victoria when the bike collided with a car turning left toward Sooke.
"It was heavy traffic, raining and still dark," Rochlitz said.
"Because of the location, traffic was backed up really far, up to the entrance of Millstream."
Traffic was cleared within an hour.
