A cyclist suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle in a roundabout near Victoria General Hospital.

The hit-and-run crash on Watkiss Way in View Royal happened at 12:30 a.m. Thursday and involved a Red Jeep Wrangler, according to West Shore RCMP.

The cyclist went to nearby Vic General to receive care.

The driver is described as a male with dark, medium-length hair and a full beard, and wearing a dark blue jacket.

West Shore RCMP is asking anyone in the area at the time who witnessed the hit and run or has dash-camera footage from May 9 between 12 a.m. and 1 a.m. to call 250-474-2264.
