A collision between a dump truck and pickup just off Highway 1 on the Malahat highway has sent one person to hospital with serious injuries.
The crash occurred at 2:45 p.m. at the intersection of Mill Bay Road and Trowsse Road, near the entrance to Bamberton provincial park.
Three ambulances were called to the scene, including a helicopter which was later cancelled, reported B.C. Ambulance.
Traffic on the northbound lanes of the Trans-Canada Highway were expected to be closed briefly for the patient to be taken onto the helicopter.
