A 40-year-old man is facing drunk driving charges after crashing his car near the intersection of Goldstream Avenue and Wale Road on Saturday.

The crash trapped the man in his car and, after firefighters extracted him from vehicle, he was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries. There was no one else in the car.

“He basically bounced off the centre median and through a fence,” said West Shore RCMP Cpl. Bryson Hill.

“Investigation shows alcohol was a factor and police are pursuing charges under the Motor Vehicle Act.”
