Easter Seal. Recycle your live Christmas tree and donate to Easter Seals. Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 6 and 7. By donation to Easter Seals Camp Shawnigan. Drop off locations: Tillicum Shopping Centre; Save-on-Foods – Fort & Foul Bay; Westshore Town Centre; Broadmead Village Shopping Centre; Shawnigan Lake at Mason’s Store & Patio Ltd. Victoria

St Patrick’s Elementary School tree chipping event is by donation and all the proceeds will go toward the school’s programs. Jan. 6-7, 1-3 p.m. at 2368 Trent St.

Central Middle School PAC. Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 6-7 at 1280 Fort St. Tree ­chipping both days, bottle drive on Sunday only. By donation for the school’s ­programs.

Oak Bay

Castaway Wanderers Rugby Football Club Currie Road, next to the Windsor Park Rose Garden. Jan. 6-7, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Jan. 15, 12-4 p.m. More at cwrugby.com

Oak Bay Firefighters’ Tree Recycle. By donation with proceeds toward the Oak Bay Bursary program. Jan. 6-7, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at 1703 Monterey Ave., Fireman’s Park, behind the fire department.

Esquimalt

Compassionate Resource Warehouse. Let the CRW volunteers help you dispose of your tree at their tree chipping event. This service is provided by donation and helps subsidize their youth programming. Sunday, Jan. 7, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Arching Browning Sports Centre in the back parking lot, 1151 Esquimalt Rd.

Saanich

Claremont Key Club. Jan. 6, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Jan. 7, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Claremont Secondary School (student parking lot off Claremont Ave). By donation (suggested $10/tree) — proceeds to the club’s charitable donations. Service provided by Cullen Tree Services.

McKenzie Elementary School annual Christmas Tree Chipping Fundraiser with Bartlett Tree Experts. By donation, with proceeds going to the creation of Outdoor Learning Spaces. Jan. 6-7, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at McKenzie Elementary School, 4005 Raymond St. North, back parking lot.

Reynolds Music Tree Chipping and Bottle Drive. By donation for the school’s music programs, bring your tree and empty bottles to Reynolds Secondary School, 3963 Borden St. Jan. 6-7, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Oaklands Elementary tree chipping and bottle drive. Saturday, Jan. 6, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Oaklands Elementary parking lot, 2827 Belmont Ave. Suggested donation of $10 toward the school and all of its programs.

Knights of Columbus. Jan. 6, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 753 Burnside Rd. West.

Victoria Lions Club. Tree chipping Jan. 6-7, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Broadmead Shopping Centre in the Thrifty Foods cart area and a bottle drive, Jan. 13, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

North Saanich Firefighters Tree Chipping and Bottle Drive. Jan 6, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at 986 Wain Rd., North Saanich (Firehall). Enjoy a hot dog, fire truck ride with the family, and hot chocolate. 100% of proceeds help local children year round.

Sidney

Sidney Lions Club. Jan. 6-7, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Iroquois Park, 9586 5th St., Sidney. By donation.

Sidney Elementary PAC no-sort bottle drive and tree chipping. Jan. 7, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. (bottle drive 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m.) at 2281 Henry Ave., Sidney. By donation and proceeds go toward the school’s programs.

Juan De Fuca Search and Rescue tree chipping and bottle drive fundraiser, by donation. Jan. 6, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Slegg Lumber, 1210 Childlow Connector, Langford.

GFL Environmental is offering free Christmas tree drop-off. Throughout the January, Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 1045 Dunford Ave.

View Royal

Victoria Gizeh Shrine Clown Unit. Tree chipping by donations with proceeds to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Montreal. Jan. 6-7, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Canadian Tire, 1519 Admirals Rd. Also featuring balloon animlas, red noses, colouring books and Loci, the locomotive and caboose.
