Central Saanich police warn of email scam requesting payment for traffic violations

Anyone who receives an email about a traffic violation should avoid clicking links in the email, police said.

Central Saanich police are advising residents to be aware of a scam involving emails that claim to notify the recipient of a traffic violation and ask for payment.

The police department said traffic violation tickets must be served in person and are never emailed.

Anyone who receives an email about a traffic violation should avoid clicking links in the email, police said.
