CANADA'S FORGOTTEN WAR

On this day of Remembrance, we reflect on the Korean War, often called Canada's forgotten war.

On this day of Remembrance, we reflect on the Korean War, often called Canada's forgotten war. After the two World Wars, the Korean War - from June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953 - was Canada's third-biggest military action in terms of numbers and casualties. For the first time, Canada did not follow Great Britain's lead into conflict across the sea and, instead, sent military support to Korea on behalf of the United Nations. We remember the Korean War from the perspective of veterans and a Victoria historian. Monitor, page D1
