Police say they will be recommending a number of firearms, drug and property-offence charges against the man.

Campbell River RCMP officers searching the tent of a 24-year-old suspect in a recent stabbing found a cache of weapons, including modified rifles and shotguns along with ammunition, on Thursday.

Police also seized more than 100 grams of fentanyl and smaller quantities of prescription dilaudid and crack cocaine along with stolen goods.

According to police, the evidence suggests drug users had been trading their prescription dilaudid for illicit fentanyl.

The suspect was released from custody with conditions.

Police say they will be recommending a number of firearms, drug and property-offence charges against the man.

The victim of the July 19 stabbing, who was stabbed in the back, was transported to Campbell River hospital, but has since been released, police said.
