Campbell River man arrested after kilos of heroin and cocaine found in baggage

One man has been arrested after a drug bust at the Kamloops bus depot.

Acting on a tip, Kamloops RCMP located a man who was boarding a bus heading to Vancouver on Aug. 24.

According to RCMP Southeast district media offier Cpl. Dan Moskaluk, officers found three kilograms of cocaine and two kilograms of heroin in a search of the luggage.

“We know the safety of our roads is impacted by the drugs that move through our community along the highways,” said Moskaluk in a statement.

“Preventing this significant amount of cocaine and heroin from reaching the public is a tremendous success for BC and the RCMP Traffic Services.”

A 45-year-old man who resides in Campbell River was arrested and charges are pending.
