Saanich police believe a quartet of early-morning break-ins, including three on Thursday, could be linked.

The Thursday morning crime spree began at McRae’s Bistro, located at McRae Avenue and Shelbourne Street, where notice of an alarm came in about 2:35 a.m.

Police found no sign of forced entry, although it was clear someone had been inside, said Saanich police Sgt. Mike Eassie.

Nothing was taken.

Within about an hour, another alarm was set off at the Pizza Factory a short distance away on Cedar Hill Cross Road. Eassie said the glass in the front door had been broken to gain entry, but that nothing was missing.

A third incident took place in the Tillicum-Burnside area, where the glass in the front door of Skyhaven Games was broken. A few items were stolen.

Eassie said the glass in the front door was also broken during a break-in a week ago at Cosmos Pizza, another Tillicum-Burnside business. Some money was taken in that incident.
