The hospital at CFB Esquimalt was evacuated on June 22, 2022, after a suspicious package was found.

Explosives experts from Fleet Dive Unit Pacific determined Wednesday morning that a suspicious package at the CFB Esquimalt base hospital did not contain any explosive material.

Prior to that, the hospital was evacuated and people were advised to stay clear of the area on Colville Road.

Dive Unit members left after making their determination and the military police continued to investigate the nature of the package, said public-affairs officer Lt.-Cmdr. Tony Wright.
