The body of a woman found beside Esquimalt's Archie Browning Sports Centre last week has been sent to Vancouver for a forensic autopsy.

The death of 48-year-old Nadine Janice Marshall has not yet been ruled a homicide, as police are still uncertain of the cause of death. Toxicology testing might be required to determine if any drugs were in the woman's system.

"We have a lot of questions without answers," Victoria police spokesman Mike Tucker said.

Major crime detectives and investigators with the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit were canvassing for information all weekend.

Police have still not said whether a crime scene in front of Esquimalt Town Hall Friday morning is linked to the death or whether they believe Marshall's body was dumped in the parking lot. Marshall did not have any apparent injuries, Tucker said.

Marshall lived in Victoria and was a member of the street community. Her body was found about 3: 30 a.m. Friday by a rec centre maintenance worker.

Detectives still hope to talk to people who had contact with Marshall between Thursday night and early Friday.

Anyone with information should call 2509957444 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
