The B.C. government has about 1,500 web applications, of which 437 are public, says a report. More than half of scanned 80 web applications were found to be at risk during an investigation.

The Opposition NDP released new, more detailed reports into the expenses of its MLAs on Thursday.

Reports cover purchases such as airfare, taxi rides, car travel, per diems and meal expenses for the month of July.

NDP caucus chairman Shane Simpson promised the extra level of transparency last month in a letter to B.C. Speaker Linda Reid that criticized the Liberal government for being slow to implement new disclosure rules for MLAs.

B.C.'s legislature releases quarterly reports of MLA expenses, but the summary totals have been criticized as useless because they don’t show exactly how the politicians spent the money.

The government also releases travel expense totals for cabinet ministers.

Individual purchases, such as per diem lunch expenses and individual hotel stays are itemized in the NDP report.

The legislature’s management committee of MLAs is supposed to agree later this fall on how to disclosure money MLAs spend on constituency expenses.
