B.C. budget 2013 highlights

• Total spending projected at $44 billion
• Corporate tax rate to rise to 11 per cent from 10 per cent
• Temporary increase in income tax for individuals making more than $150,000
• Tobacco taxes to increase by $2 a carton in October
• Medical Services Plan premiums increase by four per cent
• $625 million to be raised through property and asset sales over two years
• $1,200 B.C. Training and Education Savings Grant for children born after 2007
• Parents to get early childhood tax benefits — up to $55 per child
• Hiring freeze, management salary freeze to continue
