A Victoria woman charged in connection with a drive-by shooting will remain in custody until her trial.

Whitney Rae Furber, 26, and her co-accused, Dennis Grant Fletcher, are charged with the attempted murder of a bouncer at the Strathcona Hotel on the early morning of Feb. 25. The two are charged with discharging a prohibited firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm without a licence, and the aggravated assault of doorman Michael Mizerski, who was shot in the leg. Furber is also charged with dangerous driving.

At her bail hearing Thursday, Crown prosecutor Tamara Hodge and Dana Dempster argued whether or not Furber should be released. The proceedings cannot be reported because a publication ban is in place.

Judge Robert Higinbotham denied bail and prohibited Furber from having any contact with Fletcher. Her next court appearance is March 18.

Fletcher, who was arrested after a three-day manhunt, is to appear March 11.
