Services of Greater Victoria began in 1960 when a group of caring citizens came together with a vision of community support and youth mentorship. Boys and Girls Clubs like this one have a long history as a place for young people to discover, develop and achieve their potential by challenging their bodies and minds. The club now has 29 programs for children, youth, parents and families and there are many ways to get involved as a volunteer. Chairing the Children's Activities committee lets you put on your "fun hat" and capture the imagination of kids. The Wild About Whales derby is June 15, 2013 and a volunteer is needed to plan and implement interactive games and whale/ocean-themed activities for children 2 to 12 years old. The commitment includes monthly meetings that will grow more frequent as the event approaches, plus other tasks. Training will be provided.
