The demand on Victoria residents is a little bit less in the 5-km run on Sunday, but support remains strong for Fox’s cause of cancer research. More than $314,000 has been raised through the run since 2000. The 33rd annual Terry Fox Run begins at Mile Zero and runners will follow Dallas Road to St. Charles Street and back.

Participants and spectators are invited to wear red and white for the event and 84 cents of each dollar will be donated to cancer research in Fox’s name.

Registration is at 9 a.m. and opening ceremonies are at 10. The Bald Eagles will perform their newly recorded song inspired by Fox, Running for Our Lives.

From 10:15 a.m. to noon, local firefighters and individual volunteers will lose their locks in the seventh annual Terry Fox Great Canadian Hair Do.

Warm-up for the run begins at 10:20 a.m. and the run starts at 10:30.
