Victoria author on short list for writers' prize

Victoria writer Daniel Griffin has been shortlisted for a $10,000 literary prize. Griffin's book Stopping for Strangers is up for the Danuta Gleed Literary Award.

Victoria writer Daniel Griffin has been shortlisted for a $10,000 literary prize.

Griffin's book Stopping for Strangers is up for the Danuta Gleed Literary Award. The award recognizes the best English-language collection of short stories by a Canadian author published in 2011.

Also nominated: Andrew J. Borkowski for Copernicus Avenue, Johanna Skibsrud for This Will Be Difficult to Explain, Jessica Westhead for And Also Sharks and Ian Williams for Not Anyone's Anything.

Winners will be announced in Toronto on June 7. The award is administered by the Writers' Union of Canada.
